What is this study about?
This research study is being conducted to understand the factors affecting people's perceptions and decisions about the way they vote for political candidates. All adults age 18 or older qualify to take this survey and are encouraged to participate.
What will I be asked to do if I am in this study? ***
If you take part in the study, you will be asked to read the biography of a candidate for the United States Presidency. You will then be asked to respond to a survey with questions related to that individual’s capability to lead a country. You will also be asked to complete a questionnaire regarding your demographics, such as age, employment, education, etc. You may, without penalty, choose to click the button that says “I do not wish to participate in this survey,” which will exit you from the survey. You may also choose to skip any questions or exit the survey at any time without penalty.
Are there any benefits to me if I am in this study?
There is no direct benefit to you from being in this study. Your participation in this study will help researchers better understand the factors related to voters’ decision-making in the United States or the country in which you live.
Are there any risks to me if I am in this study?
This protocol contains no foreseeable risk. Because the survey asks about your personal views and your demographics, it is possible that you may not wish to answer some of the questions. To minimize any risk, you may, without penalty, exit the survey at any time or skip any questions that you do not wish to answer..
Will my information be kept anonymous or confidential?

The data for this study will be kept anonymous to the extent allowed by law. No published results will identify you, and your name will not be associated with the findings. The results of this study will be kept indefinitely and may be used for presentation at professional conferences or for publication in peer-edited journals, such as Evolution and Human Behavior; however, the identities of all research participants will remain anonymous.
