Welcome to the CSUF History Department's Careers in History Webinar - Media and Film
Please click on the embedded video above to begin this recorded career webinar.
Albeit with a small audience, our webinar packed a good punch with four CSUF alumni that either graduated with a history degree, an American Studies degree, or an M.A. in Medieval English literature. Now working in satisfying and demanding careers as freelance videographers, producers, marketing managers at Warner Bros., or developers at Nickelodeon, the panelists discuss the ways in which the new digital environments yearn for young talents with great communication skills, a gift for storytelling, and a feel for authenticity. Quick learners when it comes to technological tools – be it hardware or software, the panelists stress the importance of being grounded in social and historical perspective. “Don’t be afraid to be passionate,” this panel urges webinar participants – and that is certainly a lesson we have learned a number of times in this webinar series.
