Welcome to the CSUF History Department's Careers in History Webinar - NGOs and Outreach
Please click on the embedded video above to begin this recorded career webinar.
On the downside, we were unable to recruit a live audience to this webinar on careers for history majors and M.As. in the fields of outreach, NGO, and non-profit organizations. On the upside, we had a remarkably productive conversation with our alumnus Raymond Ortiz, founder of CSUF’s Cultural and Public History Association (CPHA), Kim Gilmore, the senior historian at the History Channel and A&E Networks, and two local recruiters for organizations known for outstanding non-profit work and the training of future leaders – the Peace Corps and Teach for America. That historians are an excellent fit for organizations that want to make a difference in the world became very clear in this conversation. Moreover, the conversation revealed a number of ways in which you can prepare for such a career, and how you can make a difference, too..
