Survey on Professional Development for Mentor Teachers

Thank you for your interest in mentoring a CSUF teacher candidate. Mentor teachers have a significant impact on teacher candidates’ learning and the development of their future teaching identity. We very much appreciate your service to our next generation of educators.

In an effort to continually improve the quality of teacher preparation and in response to ongoing research on best practices, the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing adopted new teacher credentialing program standards in 2016.

Part of the new program standards requires all teacher credentialing programs to verify and provide professional development for mentor teachers to ensure that district employed supervisors remain current in the knowledge and skills for candidate supervision and program expectations.

This survey will assess whether or not you have already met the professional development requirement of ten hours. You will need to verify this one time only. If you have not yet met the required hours, resources will be provided to help you attain the needed PD to serve as a mentor teacher. Please take a few minutes to respond to the following questions about your professional development and leadership experiences in the last 5 years.
